Aer Lingus and Ryanairs flights are now up for nxt years marathon. Ryanairs have gone up 33% overnight so anyone thinking of going should book flights early.
This is my 3rd year in a row and we got a hotel close to the start where we stayed the last 2 years. 178 euros per person b and b for 3 nights accomodation for twin room. Its very central.
Also another tip. We bought the 72 hour pass for all transport etc. The one day will suffice as one doesnt get the value out of the other one.

I'm planning on doing this race next year. The flight prices seem v.high at the moment though, surely there'll sales/discounts over the next few months.

Whats your experience from previous years?

I know I booked my flights very early for last years race and I know that Peckham then came on a few months after I booked them (I think oil prices were going down or sth) and the flights were cheaper than what I had booked them at. Take from that what you want.
Not too sure if I'll do it this year but I'm not making my mind up now, as I booked very early last year and in the end I didn't want to do it but did it because it was paid for.

Bring your mrs from thursday to tuesday and get cheap flights. I booked last night for 110 euros after checking everyday in the last month.
I phoned 1800 hotels and booked Hotel berlin berlin via the phone. It cost an initial €70 and balance to be paid nxt august. Bearing in moind we paid €249 for a room last year on the sunday night its a great deal. Breakfast is €19 euros so its a steal at 59 euros a night.
15 min from start at most. I cant recommend it enough. Its a class joint that i dont frequent often often. Prefer the value and spend it over there.

Ryanair are well aware the marathon is on that weekend especially after 15 of my friends booked between last night and tonight.
Prob better vale with aer lingus as its only a little more exp. Times are alot more convenient. Ryanair dont seem to have a sat flight this time. So it puts the 06.05 flight on the friday as the last flight before the marathon.

Based on the last 2 years they wont go up drastically from now on. But no flight on the sat might be a worry.
But i would phone and book that hotel. You will thank me for it.

Ryanair have gone up to €172 with out bags so aer lingus is now cheaper.
Prob best to leave it a MONTH and see what happens. But with no flight on sat(ryanair) and aer lingus flight on sat prob too late i would bite the bullet and cough up.

I'd leave it but then again if I was 100% doing it I would cough up, I hate being unsure :D but just to let you know my flight from Dublin to Berlin was not full and that was even more evident when flying home. I also have no doubt that Ryanair will open a Saturday flight but your def better of flying out on a Friday, you don't want to spend Saturday in the expo.
