I found that speaking slowly first is a good way to eventually speak clearly. Also, try to think about what you're going to say before you actually say it. I used to talk in a mumbled fashion, but it was only last week that some girl commented that "Kevin spoke in a clear and paeceful manner". I'm 'Kevin', by the way.

seems simple but try open your mouth more. Do you remember those exercises in school you might have been taught. PAY PER. Big mouth open.
The key is also in the lip movement. It shapes the words and defines them. Raising your voice slowing it down coupled with wider mouth and more lip shaping around your words will do the trick.

In speech and drama they taught us exercises to do with your tongue that will help. Most just involved moving it side to side up and down folding it (if you can) and licking around your teeth (like as if you were cleaning them after you ate something gritty like crisps)

Op you should sign up for Toastmasters, they help you improve your speaking skills and it's a really safe, friendly and non-intimidating environment. I have been going for a year now to improve my public speaking and it's just brilliant!
