AVIATION enthusiasts from all over the country are set to gather at ALSAA later this month with the return of the annual Aviation Enthusiasts Fair at the airport venue.

Whatever the particular interest of each aviation enthusiast, there is something to satisfy every taste at the upcoming fair which takes place on Sunday, November 29th between 10am and 5pm. The annual event moved to ALSAA a few years ago to allow a bigger and better exhibition and it has grown in popularity among the aviation fraternity every year since.

Exhibitors and traders at the fair include slide and photo sales, models, second-hand books and magazines, aviation collectibles, aviation art and even airband radios. The fair began as a project of the Aviation Society of Ireland which came into being in 1969 and now exists as a kind of 'virtual society' with most of the interaction between its members happening over the internet. Matthew McGrath is one of the organisers of the event and is a dedicated plane-spotter himself and likes to take photos of aircraft departing and arriving at Dublin Airport and elsewhere.

The hobby is particularly popular in the UK and Ireland and each aviation enthusiast has their own particular interests within the field from logging flight numbers to taking photos or specialising in a particular aircraft or airline.

The fair is a must for anyone with an interest in aviation and all are welcome to attend.

Just out of curiousity to anyone who attended this in the past, is it worth it to get a stall to sell simulator voucher flights at it? Would that be of interest to the type of clientele attending do you think?

I can confirm Simtech Aviation (www.simtech.ie) will be attending the Aviation fair on the 29th. Sim sessions can be booked on the day or just come over say hey and get a brochure.

The Aer Corp will also be attending this event, if it's of interest to anyone.
