Digibox or cabling problem?

Hi folks, I have an intermittent problem on my panasonic sky box at moment and would appreciate any feedback on whether it may be a box or cabling problem before I investigate further. Basically, the picture is fine on all channels but every 5 or 6 minutes or so a sharp click sound can be heard and the picture will get interrupted for a split second. This is the same for all channels I have tried but it was more noticeable on Tv3 last night where during the picture interruption this looked more pixelated for a couple of seconds and indeed the picture froze for 2 or 3 seconds.

I rebooted and it seemed to improve but I still have the first symptoms I referred to.

I checked all internal cabling which seems ok. My 2nd box is working without any issues.

    Any feedback appreciated. thanks

have you plugged in the second box where the faulty one is,using the same cables?

No haven't tried that. Pretty sure I might have had this problem before and it was resolved by rebooting. Will try the cable as soon as I get chance.

If its one of the older Panasonic Digiboxes I know that the tuner is not as strong as some of the newer models.

Yes,I'd say its old enough. Got it off a workmate about 4 years ago although he hadn't over used it himself and actually had it lying in his office at work for about 2 years.

Actually the problem doesn't affect all channels, on Sky sports and SS news theres no problem at all. Its noticeable on TV3, RTE 1 and radio five live. They are the main channels I use.

I think I'll assume the box has a problem and when it gets worse I'll switch it for the spare pace I have. If it stayed at the same level its at its not really a big deal as its the multiroom box and it is watched in the kitchen mostly.

    thanks
