the county hurling final in galway has been postponed as mullagh have appealed the fact that the suspended county chairman was on a fixtures committee which fixed their semi final match which they lost to loughrea. He was suspended at the time , and shouldnt have been on the committee. The connacht council has rejected their appeal , but it looks like this could be heading for the dra??
heard some news about it on rte radio and also the independent...

Sounds like a complete farce, Mullagh lost the game by a late ref decision (think it was a thrown ball) and now they spit the dummy and try to get the game replayed by a technicality (a mad abstract one at that).... Joke shop!

Now i know this is sport and anything can happen but....

They haven't the slightest hope in the final anyway, I'm sorry but Portumna would walk it, so i can't see the whole point in this when at the end of the day they'll just lose the final, should have saved face and left it at that

Silly little men, that's all I can say. Trying to get to the county final by pulling a ' cute wan ' Still if they get their it's a waste of their time as Portumna will thrash them anyway.

Its a ****ing disgrace tbh, it means the final will likely not be played until the New Year. Hugely unfair on both Loughrea and Portumna. They won't win this and all thats happening is they're making a joke and farce out of the county because they can't take a beating. If anyone saw the abuse that Christy Helebert took off them after that match - disgraceful. Small time petty club and I wish there was some sort of retributive action whereby there is a penalty for them should they lose the appeal. **** off back to immediate would be very tasty indeed.

Looks like it's going to be on Sun 15th now (according to galwaybayfm.ie). Mullagh players bans reduced from 48 to 12 weeks. Offence was down graded from a grade 5 (striking an official) to a grade 4 (pushing an official). Hopefully they'll let it go now and we can get on with the real business at hand!
