    Hey guys

Thinking of going for this laptop in PC World. Its on my budget. I really only need it for the net and Microsoft Office. And my Ipod. I use my PC at home for other stuff.

http://www.pcworld.ie/ - Its on the mainpage

Its got 4GB Ram and 320GB HD so it seems like a good purchase.

Was always a Dell and Intel man so don't know much about Toshiba and AMD Looks good value.

    Opinions? Thanks in advance

Toshiba are fairly reliable in my opinion. Amd while not as good as an equivalent Ghz intel processor are still pretty good. As for that toshiba, it's a good machine, touchpad is nice which is becoming rarer nowadays (alot of companies have some weird texture on them that I can't stand at all, others probably don't mind though). The main disadvantage is the design. It isn't ugly mind, it's just not as nice as other laptops.

Sitting using a brand new one now, BRILLIANT. And by the way the amd athlon dual core ql-64 is far superior to its intel equivalent. Comes preinstalled with the 64 bit version of windows 7 and the 4 gigs of ram make this one nippy machine and the guy in the shop told me theres room for 1 more. Plus face recognition software. The blandest looking laptop ive ever seen but what the hell?

    Thanks for the info.

Ya its looks like a great buy. Gonna get it this weekend. Also come with and good graphics card as well which is handy.

Graphics card isnt this laptops strongest feature. ati radeon, so not too hot for games. Main point is the processor and memory speed which are great. And if anyone doesnt believe me about amd kicking intel's ass then refer to cnet's comparison tests on both companies dual core processors http://reviews.cnet.com/4520-10442_7-6389077-1.html

I realise your post was a while ago. I am thinking of getting that model of Toshiba (fits my budget also). Did you get it? If so, are you happy with it?
