    Hi All ,

    a friend of mine moved to chorus and offered me his old Sky + box - i only have a standard sky box so I was wondering if i take it can i just switch them over or will i need to ring them etc.

    You will need to ring them up to pair the box with the card and enable the recording features. Plus there will be a second cable required to record and view a channel at the same time.

    Thanks Danny - when you say a second cable does that mean sky will have to come out and charge me for installation ...

    Not necessarly..If you could get someone to do it for you or you can do it yourself...But Sky would charge for a callout if you do get them to do it.

    You will require a Quad Lnb fitted to your dish and a second cable to be ran in order to take full effect of the sky plus, with the one cable you will only be able to record what you are watching.

    You will need to ring sky to pair the card to the skyplus box and to enable the recording features. You would be expected to pay for the quad and cable run unless you do it yourself and buy a quad yourself.
