    Bonoestente,

so I've managed to screw my back up again and all the symptoms are the same as when I slipped a disc many years ago. That time (early 1980's) I made the mistake of immediately going down the surgery route without exploring other options and ended up with 2 plastic discs in my back.

This time round, I'd like to explore some non-invasive options before agreeing to surrender myself to the knife.

So, I'm not looking for a doctor cos I already have one of those waiting to take my money and pack me off to a specialist who'll take even more, leaving me broke and probably still in pain.

Anyone been down the non-surgical route to dealing with a herniated/slipped disc and come out the other end smiling?

    Many thanks,
    Mick

Hi Mick, sorry to hear about your back, I used to slip discs very easily since an accident many years ago, so I can sympathise with you. I was originally going to my doctor for anti inflammatories and painkillers when my back 'went'. Two years ago I went to a chiropractor and had work done on my back for 18 months, on and off (each time I slipped a disc). I havent had to go now for 6 months, my back is fine. So for the first time since 1992 I have been pain free and able to get back to exercise etc. The Chiropractors have come along way medically and I would be happy to pass on the name of my chiropractor (who has a very good reputation)if you think you would like to give it a go.
    :)

If it's a good chiropractor you want, I can thoroughly recommend Dynamic Chiropractors behind the Spar on Cork Rd (opposite Morris).

Emma is the only one I've used in there, but she sorted me each time and explained everything to me.
