Lookin for a laptop around the 1000 mark, though I am open to any suggestions over since I was told 'whatever it takes' with the budget. Im in college doing multimedia so I need one capable of video editing, java programming, aswell as all the various word, powerpoint etc. and other such collegy programs. Mobility isnt a major factor since Im fine lugging anything heavy around, and will probably need something with a decent sized screen anyway. Will probably suffer the occasional bout of Elder Scrolls and Sonic old school games aswell. Warranty, optional. Oh and Im not biased as to whether its a mac or windows.

And thanks for taking the time out to read this and in advance for any replies and suggestions. Have a nice day/night/sleep!

It kills me to say it, but I'd have to suggest a Macbook.

Video editing and laptops usually dont mix well though. For 1K you could get a killer(in student terms) suite, but you wont be lugging that anywhere.

How much will you need to do in class and how much can be done at home?

Also, if you're going to be using PS/Flash/Premier etc etc then go with Intel, it seems that AMD and Adobe dont play nice.
