lads i bought a gun its a 12 gauge vicker but it can only has 2 1/2 inch chambers.
pheasant is the only game bird i will be after along with vermin but can someone tell me if i'd be better of with larger shot size to compensate for the smaller cartridge size for the pheasant???
eg iv heard seven to seven and a half does for pheasant but would sixes be better in the shorter cartridge....
this might be a dumb question but im a complete newbie to shooting

    sound boys thanks

    It shouldn't make a difference a 32gr 6 in 2 1/2" has the same amount of shot as a 2 3/4" .
I've seen lads over the last week with everything from 30gr 6s to 36gr 4s for pheasant so don't let it bother you too much.
    Personally I'm shooting a 20g beretta with 32gr 2 1/2" 7s and it's doing fine.
