I noticed this year when I started training for a half marathon after reducing my weekly mileage for a couple of months after the marathon that my appetite was huge. I'd be absolutely starving all the time. As I got used to the longer runs my appetite went back to normal.

I'd recommend eating protein (eggs, lean meat, fish) after long runs, snack on fruit or a nut mix. Try to avoid sweet foods or too much carbs. If you're really hungry then mix some whey powder into a yoghurt and have it as a morning or afternoon snack. Also, try to eat 4 or 5 smaller meals instead of 3 big ones.

i never get the nut suggestion. i can scoff handfulls of them and dont ever feel fuller and they are things which arent good either in large amounts. i think i read somewhere that about 10 was the max recommended but then it also depends on what nut.
