    Hi

Excuse the noob question but Can I connect two STB's to my satellite dish without having to run a second cable from the dish and a dual LNB, Can I use some sort of cable splitter? I want to watch different channels on each STB, someone suggested on of these but I am unsure ?

    TIA

    NO!
a multiple LNB and seperate cables are required. the word AERIAL is the clue!!!! Not Dish!!! these can only be used for splitting a terrestial signal.

That device is not suitable at all.

Ideally you would use seperate feeds from your dual/quad/octo LNB, but sometimes this is not an option for some people.

Stackers/destackers could be a possible option for you using a single feed - More info and a helpful thread about them here.

Chances are though that a quad LNB and some cableing would prove a lot cheaper and easier for you.
