xlr/usb audio box

    Hope this is in the right section
    I want to record onto my laptop from a mixing desk.
    I have the software etc but am looking for an audio/di box that will take xlr input and record it on laptop using usb.
    Any helpwould be great thanks
    ps:I would like not to have to order this online

    I would also like to know the answer to this. I'm in a pickle at the moment because I have an XLR mic and bought a 1/4in adapter for use in my PC. For whatever reason, the lead and adapter didn't fit properly together and are now stuck half-in-half-out.

    HELP!!!

    probably best posted in the general music production forums but most Audio Interfaces will allow you to do this and give you better quality sound than your laptop will provide.

    For example, the M-Audio Fasttrack Pro http://www.m-audio.com/products/en_us/FastTrackPro.html does the job for me anyway.

    There are plenty of places in Ireland where you'd pick one of these or a cheaper option up if you'd rather not do interweb buying. Try posting a request in the general music production forum and I'd imagine someone will offer to sell you one or point to you a vendor in your area.
