Processed food link with depression?

The link between sugar and depression is well established, they even know the mechanism that causes it.

Also, large amounts of omega 6 (from industrially processed vegetable oil) also contributes as it stops the brain getting the omega 3 that it needs.

Processed food is packed full of either sugar or veg oil or both so this doesn't surprise me.

Don't know why they mention high-fat dairy though? There's no evidence to single that out at all. Just towing the party 'all fat is the devil' line I guess.

Always kind of assumed that this may be the case but is it recognised as fact now? Must do a search on it.

    Apparently:
morphine-like substances derived from the incomplete digests of dairy and cereal grain proteins are other dietary factors which may alter mood by depressing CNS serotonin, dopamine and norepinephrine levels.

Yeah but why mention high-fat dairy specifically? Surely higher-fat dairy would be naturally lower in these proteins that low-fat?
