How to fix my push

I have developed a bad push when using my driver. I think my hands are coming down too quick or I'm not turning my hips. I'm not sure of the proper golf terms. My irons are fine. I'm self thought and I've only recently taken up golf properly and want to improve, I'm due to get lessons soon but would appreciate any tips or drills to help fix.

Are you sure it's a push.

A push is easy to fix.

Is the ball flight starting straight and curling......that's a fade or a slice. A push goes straight.

It goes dead straight, but not dead ahead. I'm fairly sure I'm not aiming where it lands as I address my iron shots with a similar stance and they seem to go in or around where I'd like them to.

If it's a push and your irons are going straight then I wouldn't change much. For your driver, try strengthening your grip and aiming your shoulders to the right a bit - your feet and the club face still should aim aim at the target. That should turn a push into a draw.

    Thanks I'll try that.

    good advice.

I was dragging my shots left when my grip was too strong, I weakened my grip and they now go straight down the middle.

(so pretty much the opposite if you)

I had the exact same problem a few months ago halfforward. In my case the ball was way too far back in my stance. It was in the middle of my feet even though I was positive at address that it was in the right place. Anyways I moved the ball up to the left instep and once I got used to the weirdness of the new ball position the drives started going straight again.

Ball position is just inside my left foot for my drives, so dont think its that.

Rather than mess around go and get a lesson (you often think you are doing one thing but another pair of eyes will spot the problem).

Decided to get a lesson . He changed my grip slightly(too strong) narrowded my stance, stand taller and shift my weight onto my right leg on backswing. Playin tomorrow see how it goes might take a bit of practice. Gettin a lesson early is def the way to go.
