My car failed the NCT on saturday. Didn't really expect it to pass but I did go all out and buy a new back wiper for it and even got it washed for such an occassion.

Anway, here are the reasons it failed.

    Item ....................Description .................Reason

    Rear View Mirror..........Mounting................. loose
Steering Linkage....... Track rod ends ...........Worn
    Front Suspension .........Ball joints ................Worn

It also has a leaking exhaust which means the emission test has to be done.

I will get some quotes throughout the week, but it's sunday now and i'm curious, so how much you think it would cost to get the three things fixed plus the exhaust leakage too?

    Thanks

would you prefer they impounded your car or passed the car even though there's problems with it?

Some people are never happy. the NCT is great value when you consider how much is checked.
