I bought an ipod in US last year.It has been working fine until the other day when it just wont turn on.I have tried charging it on the PC but it still wont turn on.As far as I am aware,it wasnt damaged by water etc.

    Any advices at all?

    If it still ain't working

    1. Try another iPod connection cable, if available.

    2. PRESS and HOLD the centre button and the button directly beneath it, do you get a response.

When the iPod is connected to the Mac or PC it should auto detect and turn itself on.

hi - i have a similar problem. I suggest you try some of my troubleshooting tasks below.

i bought a 3rd generation (think its 3rd) in the states over a year ago from an Apple store. why dont apple explicitly label the version...

Anyway - it doesnt seem to power on now.
When connected to a PC usb - it works fine. I can browse through its contents etc add remove restore etc. I've tried charging from other USB ports too.

but once unconnected, it wont power on. it wont reset either (centre + select). i've left it plugged in for hours into a pc and still doesnt seem to charge/power on.

when its connected to the pc and i select 'disconnect' from within iTunes - (but leave it physically plugged in the usb port) it then switches the ipod nano display to the battery charging graphic - which is ok. but once i remove from the pc and try power on...nothing.

    any ideas ??
