Approx asking price for my uMBP?

    Hello,

I think i might let my 15' unibody MBP go, and I am just wondering what a good asking price for it might be?
I bought it in Australia about 2 weeks after the unibody came out (less than 1 year old)

    Spec:

    2.53Ghz
    4GB ram
250GB 7200rpm HDD, with everything else as standard

It is in very good condition, definitely in much better condition than most people would keep theirs in - with only very tiny dent at the bottom corner of the back of the display panel (not even all that noticeable, but i was so fckin p!ssed when i did it).
The only reason for me selling is that i don't need the mobility for the next few months and will purchase the new 27'' imac.
I see that on the apple store, the closest thing to it retails for E1650 - What could i expect to get for mine?

    Any help appreciated, cheers!

    Your Computer is a

    MacBook Pro unibody 15 inch Intel Core 2 Duo 2.53 GHz 4096 / 250 GB / superdrive
The Mac2Sell Quoted Value is :

    € 1,280

Cheers for the link Iomega - I think 1280 is pushing it in this climate though, is it not? I have no clue as to its 2nd hand value and my ballpark figure was 1000e, but maybe thats letting it go a bit cheaply?

Might aswell ask €1,280 for it, doesn't mean anyone will pay that much for it...but someone might....check on adverts to see how much similar systems have gone for. IMO the dent will bring the value down, even if it's a small but noticable dent.

TBH, I've always found that Mac2Sell seems to price most Macs around €100-200 over what they are worth, so your own estimate seems more reasonable. Still the closest spec to yours now available costs a whopping €1,649 new (and yours has the 9600 graphics card, doesn't it?) so around €1100 seems like a very reasonable asking price...

Apple are selling refurbs of that model for €1199.99 so id say go about €100 less than that

Yea the graphics card is the same. Im pretty sure the only difference between mine, and a brand new one is the battery. The 17'' unibody came out a couple of months after the 15'' and had a new type battery - I think they might be using that battery in the later 15'' models.

Ill put it on adverts soon i guess, and ask for around 1100e.
Oh yea... I don't have the original box (as i travelled back from Australia), however i do have the perfect carrying case for it, and the 2 discs that came with it (case only cost about 50e, but i thought it was the classiest!). Should this cancel out the fact there is no box?

    Thanks for the help people!

Some people would be bothered if there was no box handy. If you have as much of the original purchase/order documents handy as you can, I am sure that would suffice them; it wouldn't put me off.
