    Hi All,

I am going to buy a second hand car under 2k euros. I am little bit confused about the cost involved the car maintenance. I am aware about the following:

Insurance: around 1.000 euros a year
Motor Tax: depends on the cc (around 300 a year)
NCT: around 20 a year (bianually payed)

    anything else ?

Servicing (assume small simple car) for small mileage each year - €150
    Tyres one set/year max - €200
    Fuel ??
Additional items that could crop up would include brake renewal etc, battery, exhaust etc etc. Allow €500 min.
Additional items required for nct could also mean big money depending on car.
