*Mods please delete if I'm not allowed ask this question.

I recently got a MBP and Limewire is the first application I have attempted to get. I have downloaded and installed this (the correct Mac version). However when I click on the icon on my desktop the icon appears in the dock for a second and then vanishes. Nothing happens and I can't get it going. I can't figure it out?

Probably a Java problem. Is the latest version installed? Check Software Update.

Can you open Limewire from your Application Folder in Finder, your download folder or via a Spotlight search?

You might try a Limewire clone, GNU, GPL and Free. Frostwire.

Hmmm I hate Limewire but I downloaded it there and it worked fine. Are you on Snow Leopard?

Just one question, you said you double-clicked on the Limewire icon on the desktop - what is it doing there? It should be in the applications folder.

That's what I was thinking, SP; perhaps he had merely dragged the icon in and the install wasn't correctly affected onto his Application Folder. I'd go back and reinstall if I was him.

Thanks I think I'll try reinstalling. It automatically appeared on my desktop. I didn't choose to place it there. No I'm not using Snow Leopard. Hopefully this will work.
