    int the points race do they radios by any chance :D
    impressive how they keep up with whos lapped and whos not, whos won which sprints and everyones pts tally and positions!

    There is a big scoreboard at one end of the velodrome, and the coaches are at trackside to shout out instructions.

    wow a puncture on a track! :eek: bizarre, I thought they would have the surface like glass so the possibility of a puncture was zero

    Tyre pressures are very high (I think they mentioned 14 bar in commentry). I was on the Manchester track a few years ago, and one of the coaches was just behind me. She had a blow-out - it sounded like a gun going off. She was lucky that no-one was behind her, and she was able to get off the track safely (it happened as she was coming into the straight - the slope at each end is 43 degrees, and if it had happened going into the bend she would have struggled to get round it)
