Can you elaborate more? Could easily be flares that the Army might have popped for training.

I've seen a (garda?) helicopter doing laps of the D24 area, I'd guess it's that.

Perhaps it might just be one aircraft in the circuit and you're seeing the left hand red navigation light? Maybe the helicopters on nightvision training?
