Job Seekers Benefit and Self Employed

Hi I was made redundant from a PAYE job end Sept 09, where I was working for over 6 years without break, so would be entitled to JSB. I was about to sign on for it and now look like getting 4 months short term contract work. The most tax efficient way of doing this is as a sole trader or limited company so I can charge my fairly steep travel expenses.
My Question is if set myself up as self employed and work the 4 months, will I be entitled to take up my JSB in feb 2010. Having been self employed for some of the time in 2010- I know I will have enough stamps as the reconable year is 2008 which I worked all year, I'm wondering will I be excluded as a self employed person. Any thoughts? thanks:confused:

As long as you have enough stamps on you (and make sure your accountant/umbrella company are paying the correct amount of PRSI!) should be fine if you're unable to find work in February.
