Just booked it for Sat Nov 14th and it seems to apply to weekends as well as weekdays.

Similar deal on at the Blarney Golf Resort. We were there 2 weeks ago (not on this deal unfortunately :( but they mentioned it when we were there. Terrific hotel and some of the best hotel restaurant food and service that I have experienced in Ireland.

If you book dinner for 2 in the restaurant (€50 per head) you get to stay overnight for free.

Overlooking the scenery of a delightful retail park. Horrible walk to the city, hotel particularly ugly from the outside, swimming pool shown on TV3 website not actually in the hotel.

It is still a decent price though.

I actually have a voucher for 2 nights stay in the Blarney Golf resort for 2 people b&b plus 1 evening 4 course meal. Its valid up until the end of this year.

As I will be relocation with work very shortly I wont be able to use it, il sell it for €120. If anybody's interested PM me

How horrible is the walk to the city, explain. Through bad area / far? Dont mind what it looks like from the outside so long as its clean and comfortable inside. I wont be swimming ;)

Thanks OP, Going to book a little break away now :D

Stayed there a couple of months ago- it is a good bit out of the city 20/25min walk beside a retail park and there is no Swimming pool!!

Definitely clean and comfortable hotel, the walk isn't through a rough area, just through a retail park and the traffic is quite busy at times. Not in the least bit picturesque though. I would say a mile away from the castle and the centre itself might be as the crow flies but might feel like a longer walk than that.

Handy for your DIY needs though as Woodies is next door. Used to get the boy racers in there at night comparing their exhausts sizes or whatever petrol heads do!!!, but think they have closed up the retail park car park in the evenings to sort that problem.

All true but it is so cheap to park in KK who cares! like 60c a hour compared to 1.80 in Waterford.

Take a left at MacDonalds on you way in to KK, This road is parallel to the high street so you can just park and turn right for shopping. Even McDonagh SC is v. cheap.

Think you've got the wrong hotel there mate - Blarney Golf Resort is outside Blarney - 3 miles from the city and nowhere near any retail park. It's in the countryside actually.

Not sure you have looked at the deal of the day on TV3 as per OP. But you are right the hotel I am on about is outside Blarney, just a lot more than 3 miles.

Taken from TV3 website today (30/10/2009):
    Days Hotel, Kilkenny
Amazing deals for 2 from just €89 all in - includes accommodation, 4 Course Dinner and Wine - price is per deal and not per person
Why not visit the ever beautiful city of Kilkenny for a night or two and stay at the ever popular Days Hotel Kilkenny with very special TV3 rates.
Just a short walk from the beautiful medieval city of Kilkenny, the hotel also have special admission rates for the new World Class Watershed Sports & Leisure Complex located nearby.
To book this offer simply log onto www.dayshotelkilkenny.com and enter DEAL in our promo code box or call 056 7783100 and quote “TV3” when booking

I was able to book Sat Nov 15th. Maybe they have only a certain amount of rooms on this offer. Why don't you ring them?
