Pre Dinner Wedding Music

    Hey there,

I'm looking for something a little different to kick start our wedding reception next September.

I though a Mariachi band would be a nice alternative to the usual pre dinner Jazz band.

Surprisingly I can't seem to find one!!! Has anyone any ideas? Or can anyone suggest an alternative to Jazz?

    Thanks,
    Nikki.

Have been recommended a band called "tropical storm" that do pre dinner drinks. Supposed to be really good and get crowd going

You don't want anything too mad or too loud - people want to chill out, have a drink and a chat, not a dance. I went to a wedding where there was a 5-piece playing beautiful classical music in the corner of the room where the drinks reception was.

But it was a small room and obviously any instruments are quite loud, so everyone went to the bar instead, leaving the band playing on their own for two hours with no-one to hear them except for a handful of people who came in and out to listen.

They started just jamming after a while and no-one noticed :D

We had a 3 piece trad band play for 90 minutes before our wedding and everybody loved them
