Sky TV not working

    Hi,
Have Sky+ HD in Cork. Getting some roof work done and scaffolding was put up yesterday. Not sure if they hit the satellite or if scaffold is just blocking signal but I now have no TV... Rang Sky and they said it looks like nothing is coming from dish but late last night I was able to watch anytime tv for about 35 minutes before I got the no signal being received message. ( This leads me to think it's just the signal being blocked ).
Earliest Sky can get out to check is next Thursday!! A whole week with no TV.
Two questions - 1. Can an independent contractor come fix this or do I need to wait for Sky? 2. How much would a seperate aerial cost to install - want to have a back-up in future in case there are issues like this again - at least I'd have RTE channels

    Thanks

I had the same thing -scaffold blocked the signal. With mine there were able to move a 'side board' on the scaffold & it gave me just enough signal to continue. With the weather we're having in Cork at the moment you probably have a tiny bit of signal left & when the weather cleared for a while last night you got signal, but with the forecast for the week, I'd say you're banjaxxed !

Check the line of sight from the dish just in case its the end of a scaffold board that can be moved, or if its the main scaffold body.......

Dont wait a week contact www.signalsolutions.tv based in cork they will also look after rte aerials. If the scaffold was blocking your signal you would not have had 35mins viewing last night more likely is the dish was hit and it's slightly out of line.
