    Hi Guys,
Has anyone bought one of these plasma's yet? Trying to find a supplier for the Irish/Euro model but each time I look on Komplett the stock delivery times get pushed back by a month!!
Hope to buy one in the next couple of weeks and was wondering if anyone knew of an alternate dealer/supplier?
    Thanks:confused:

I have the 42" version of the V10. Got it off Seamus Watters in Newry, delivered. Recommended seller.

    Thanks Gebbel,
Will give Seamus Watters a try. What about the tv? Am I making the right choice considering you have one now and are you happy that you picked this particular model? I looks fantastic in the showrooms!:)

Yeah looking at the same set as it has the MPEG 4 decoded Big Moe confirmed that the V10 they are selling is the British version ie MPEG2 I'm sure Seamus Watters is selling the UK set as well although I'd be interested in the price & availability of it from him. If you head over to AV forums theres a plasma section and theres a lot of happy punters with the set, only downside I can see is that a lot of people think Standard Def looks crap on them. I like Plasma over LCD as you very rearly need to worry about dead or stuck pixels, until manufacturers provide guarentees against this issue I'm not going to waste money on them. Anyway let us know if you find a decent price and availability

    Thanks

This TV really is the business. I read all of the V10 owners thread over on avforums.com...it took me about 5 hours! The vast majority of owners, me included, are really happy. The reviews that matter have also been highly complimentary. Check out this review of the 50" V10 Panasonic Plasma from the same site. And here for a review of the 42".
The king of Plasma TV's is the Pioneer Kuro but it is really expensive. This TV has been compared to them..that's how well they perform. They come a little short in terms of Black Level response and SD performance, but nothing else. In fact one Kuro owner said that the V10 outperformed it in certain aspects. This TV is a Kuro rival...enough said!

just a note on the MPEG4 capabilites of the UK Panasonic sets.... AT THE MOMENT they're working. That doesnt mean that RTE will weak something again (like they have in the past) and it could "break" MPEG4 on the UK models. i wouldnt agree with certain people on avforums that SD performance is crap. it looks quite good to me.

I'd be a bit worried about buying the Kuro, haven't Pioneer exited the Plasma Market, Big Moe could probably advise

    Thanks

    Hi Guys,
Thanks for all the feedback! Best price I got was from Seamus Watters for the UK model , cheaper than any others and that was including delivery. Dont think anyone can beat that. Also they have been great to deal with and very friendly so am going to go ahead and buy from them.
    :)

yeah Pioneer have stopped manufacturing TVs but they are still giving a 5 year warranty on any ones they sell. It would be the same as if you bought a TV 3 years ago with 5 years warranty. they dont make that TV anymore but they can still repair it... anyway, Pioneers are generally very reliable so we'll have to wait and see about guarantee issues

Was that for the Pany V10 or the Pioneer Kudo? Did they have stock?

That was for the v10 Adam

Holy §hit thats a good price. Nah the vat only adds 6.5%, i must get onto Panasonic on monday and see if there was a re-adjustment on the price or something... thats a huge difference.

    Thanks Big Moe,
There is nothing like competition for us consumers!!!
Maybe you could help me and clarify the picture quality on the panny under normal stand def. Is it as bad as other people think or is it a case of being too critical?
    Cheers

SD on any full HD set looks only ordinary when you have just come off watching a Blu Ray, or any HD material for that matter. I am always wary of those who say that SD performance from their set is excellent...it's simply not true. I have seen SD on many many sets, and I find very little difference between them..it's adequate but that's all.
HD on the Panasonic V10 is considered to as good as it gets and that is certainly true. SD is fine...it just doesn't have the same definition...how can it? So to sum up, SD on the V10 is fine...but it's the HD stuff that will blow you away.
