I have been looking for a job now for 5 months, since I finished college!

I have been to agencies and I have applied directly to companies but nothing has turned up as yet.

My CV and cover letter are perfect so I am told. The problem that I have now is that I feel I may be over-qualified for any position I apply for.

For example.....I went for an interview last week....I met all the criteria for what they were looking for...when I went into the interview they told me that with my qualifications they could not possibly hire me as they would be embarrassed if anyone knew!(Law degree)

Do people think I should alter my CV in relation to my experience etc???
Any suggestions at all may help!

It is only office/admin work that I am looking for and I am aware that wages for this are now very low but can I not have a say.....I would have taken that job!!!!!

Thats a bit of a weird response from them but alot of companies nowadays aren't hiring over-qualified people in case they move on to other jobs and have to go through the whole process of hiring again,it's a pain in the bum.As for your CV I'd keep sending it out as is for a while,if you keep getting the same response alter it to cater for the job being applied

Yeah it was a funny response.......I was quite taken back by it!

There just isn't many jobs for senior level office support staff which i must qualify for! Most jobs are for junior positions......cheaper labor I guess but I would do the job!

Thanks for the post will keep the CV like it is for now and will alter it in future when needed! :D
