Just saw brief highlights of the Scarlets vs Dragons from the weekend - Scarlets put a lot of pressure on and Dragons seemed to cave easily and give away penalties, but held their line - Scarlets didn't look to threaten the line too much. If Connacht can defend and keep their discipline, like they have at times this season, we have a chance of turning them over. If we can't its goodnight Irene!

Either way, see ya there ;)

Hard as it is to admit it, but I think you are right.
We live in hope. There is one good surprise left in them.

Surprised to see Morris get the nod in the front row. Suspension and injury aside, I think Hagan's been better than him so far this year.

With the way the weather's been recently, better pack your radiation suits for Friday evening.

Shame they let that try in at the end to give Scarlets the bonus point. Could come back to haunt them come the end of the season.

I know they won tonight, but I can't see Connacht and Scarlets fighting for 4th place.
You never know, still a few months to go yet. :D

Good win.Pack superb,Frank Murphy delivered his best performance in ages,Keith'The Brick Hithouse' Matthews put in some bone crunching hits.Gavin Duffy solid.Good all round performance against a dissapointing Scarlets team albeit they were fairly understrength.

conancht best performance all season. destroyed them in the forwards. joc was unreal, it was like watching back when he played for ireland. we bossed the mfor 90% of the game. the 1st 3 points scarlets got were a joke. and a try in the last min was disapointing cause we wont a losing point away to them

Which is awesome. I love to see Connacht do well, but I'd love them to not come bottom of the Magners this year, otherwise this is all for nothing imo. I want to see them progressing, which means not finishing last for once and getting into Europe by beating the lowest placed Welsh team.

WTF was up with Gavin Duffy? It's almost like he thinks he's getting into Kidney's final squad haha. Seriously though great performance by Duffy, just top quality.

He's always been a good player. He just hasn't played as well as we know he could.

A superb performance in defence, the one late try aside.

Johnny was immense, back to his imperious pomp. It's nice to have such depth and variety in the back row, especially with Ray back soon. Matthews had at least 2 savage hits, really on a mission. Anyone over the stand side see what he was carded for? The scrum really was working beautifully as well.

It's a shame that there's no chance to build on this momentum until December.

Think it was for a deliberate block on a player after he had chipped the ball on. Shame, as the touch judge had missed that their player had a foot in touch 10 seconds before that, so we should have had a lineout.
Great win all the same :D

Spot on that was it. Im also going to be contreversal(sic) and say he didn't get out of the way (as oppose to purposely in the way).
    :D

Although i would like to see the highlights on Tuesday to confirm.

The welsh avenue into Europe is gone now.We have to finish ahead of one of the other provinces.Win the European Challenge Cup or hope one of the provinces wins the HC or ECC to qualify for the HC for 2010/2011

Yup, best iv seen Connacht play in a long long time, Frank murphy, Brett wilkonson, Gavin Duffy and Troy Nathan all had an amazing game, and for once our tackling was decent, took scarlets about 60 minutes to get a score on the board.

But our downfall will be lack of bonus points, cardiff and scarlets are only ahead of us because of bonus points.

I'd say one of the Irish teams winning the HEC or ECC is your best bet. If Leinster don't get out of their group I'd fancy them to win the ECC, and both Leinster and Munster have a decent shot of winning the HEC. More likely than Connacht getting anywhere in the ML unfortunately.

Yeah, but it would still be nice not to finish last for a change. ;)

To be fair Scarlets were sh1te. As I posted before the game, they don't pose much of an attacking threat, and relied on penalties to beat the Dragons last week. The late try was a silly lapse in concentration, only defensive error of the night, and the scoreline flattered Scarlets. Jeez, its nice to be able to say that about the opposition for a change!
Scarlets scrum and scrumhalf were a shambles. How the referee managed to see 3 scrum penalties against Connacht in the second half bewildered me, and most of the crowd. Why would a team that is totally dominant in the scrum give away penalties on their own feed???

Thought the players mentioned above all featured prominently, as well as Keith Matthews (some big tackles), Johnny O'Connor (awesome in the loose), and Sean Cronin had a great game. Watching Fogarty yesterday, I'd say Cronin is definitely second behind Fla for the no.2 spot in the AIs and should definitely start against Fiji.
Honourable mention to Troy Nathan, while he can still only run in a straight line, he must be our most improved player this season and his defence and workrate anytime I've seen him lately has been excellent.

really enjoyed the game friday night, though scarlets would be better,

we must have knocked it on 6-7 times,

Scrum was very good, muldoon, front row and joc really going well,

kidney was there he was watching over the dressing rooms, cronin could get a place on the bench for the autumn internations, maybe even a run out,

keatley is kivking the ball really well, he has improved a lot in 1 year.
