I've had numerous bad experiences with Hickeys over the years.
e.g. rude staff, arrogant attitude when I've asked them not to tear the fabric.
Some staff in certain branches had also told my students that they wouldn't be able to make the pattern they've selected (whay do they know??) and that Hickeys don't stock 100% cotton (rubbish) so they would have to buy polycotton.
To be fair not all the staff are rude and I have found a few helpful members of staff on occasion. My overall impression is the they atmosphere amongst the staff in the shops is negative and intolerant of customers.
I'm curious about other peoples' experiences of Hickey's..........

I apologise for resurrecting an old thread ...

But I too am so sick and tired of the customer service in Hickeys (Henry Street). Today I went in to get some sewing materials. In the last year I have gone in on about three occasions and experienced staff being totally ignored, utterly indifferent, completely unhelpful but I needed this sewing stuff and went in in the hope that something may have changed !

No. Same old same old. Unbelievable in the modern day. Completely unbelievable. Ended up walking out.

Probably paid too much with too low performance standards.
