    Hi,

The sewage from a house goes to a septic tank, obviously only in the absence of a sewer system!

I am getting mixed answers on where the rest goes i.e. from kitchen sink, washing machine, bath etc.

I've been told a soak pit?
I've been told they go to a grease trap and then on to the septic tank?

    Are either of these correct?

I've read something about the detergents used in the home greatly affecting the performance of a septic tank. Any info. on this?

    SAS
