Big problem am I going to jail.

ok folks il get straight into it, about to years ago when i was 16 somebody attacked my girlfriend and pushed her onto the ground when they were drunk, as you can imagine i was very annoyed over this. A few weeks later the same person started calling my mobile when i was at a party telling me to come down to him and fight him. I had a few drinks on me and i got one of my sober friends to drive me and four other friends down to him. He was on the phone telling more people to come down to help him as we jumped out of the car. There was already about twenty of them there. I walked straight over to him and punched him in the face a few times and he hit me back a few times aswell. It turned into a big fight between everybody and weapons were used the bottles we were drinking from. The person i got into the fight with ended up being taking away in a ambulance and needed stiches down his face. Me and my four friends were all taking in by the police a few weeks later. Three of my friends got let off by signing a sheet admiting they produced weapons in a fight. My other friend didnt sign the sheet as he didnt have anyting. i didnt get the option to sign it as i was the person who caused the damage. That was to years go, the police arrived at my door yesterday and said im being charged with assult and using a deadly weapon and im in court soon. My other friend who never signed the sheet hasnt heard anyting. Now i want to make this clear i have never being in trouble with the law before or since this has happend. What im asking is what am i likely to get and what will happen to my friend who didnt sign the sheet. The thing is the police waited until i was 18 to bring this back up will this change anyting in court, i was stupid when i was 16 but am diffrent now and i hope this dosnt affect my future prospects.
