Apologies in advance for a long winded post!
I have a Amstrad Sky+ box and I've been having a good bit of grief with it for the last few weeks.

Sometimes when I'm flicking through the channels it will just start changing the channels on its own and there is no way to stop it,the remote sensor light on the actual box will be on red even if I remove the batteries from the remote control

The only way to stop it is to plug the box out at the wall and when I do this the box wont come out of standby!
I missed the United v Liverpool match on sunday because of this and wasted about 12 phone euro credit on the phone to sky to see if they could tell me how to get the box out of standby over the phone which they couldn't,of course!

He said that they would have to send an enginner out but couldn't send one until next wednesday(4th of nov)which was ridiculous but I agreed in the end.

But after a bit of digging around online tonight I found out how to do a software update and now the box is working again.

My question is: the box is out of warranty in january and even though its working fine again should I still let the engineer come and change the box for a new one next week? because obviously there's some underlying fault with the box and im afraid to plug it out in case it wont turn back on again!

    Any advice is appreciated!
