What the going/usual rate now for tiling ceramic and porcelain tiles?
We've got some very varied quotes!!
I'm just looking for a rough idea, for what people have paid
per square yard/meter for ceramic and porcelain tiles.

Or if a tiler is looking for a job PM me.

last quote i got was 15 euro square yard, about 1 year ago, i reckon that it should be cheaper now

Ps i didnt accept the quote, i purchase a tile cutter and did the work myself, took a bit longer, but the tiles are still on the wall

Always remember just because the tiler is cheap the tiler is not necess good. I had 3 tilers working for me. All were cheap and all were good. I made sure of it. I am very fusy. Do not be afraid to ask for references on work and check them out. Offer the home owner 10 euro for the 5mins and ask them there honest opinion of the tiler.

I always do and have done this with people i employed. Granted I had a grumpy electrician no one liked working for me but thank god his work was excellent.

I will give you 3 tilers numbers for dublin and surrounding if it suits. You can PM me and i will advise all you want.

Tiling is the type of job that truly peed me off when done wrong or very bad.

I'm in the midlands and the few quotes i got so far,
    (and i only started looking)
    are ranging from
    12 euro a sq yard
to 21 euro a sq yard
that's without the Irish thing of haggling .....

Just wondering what the usual rate is now.

Going prices at the moment in the Dublin and surrounding area are from zero to expensive but you should look at paying

    Ceramic 18 Euro a yard

Porceline 22 - 25 Euro depending on the quality and size

Marble 30 - 35 again depending on the quality and size

    Hi there,

we usually charge from €17 (18 - depends on area) per sq y. For bathrooms and small bits €20.
    And still busy.
I would never go under €17. (even in recession:D as I am hearing from all sides). For 12 euro it must be some desperado who is willing to earn up to 40 euro per day (after taxes, fuel, tools...). My credo is ,, this job is my future job,, and believe or not it is working even for 20 or 25 euro per sq yard.;)
