Healthy Sandwich

Hi, I end up having a sandwich for lunch every day in work - not the healthiest lunch choice I know! I was wondering if people could make any sandwich suggestions that would be healthy?

My canteen in work has a pretty good selection of sandwich fillers - it's an O'Briens, so I have plenty of choice - just looking for some interesting healthy options!

    Thanks!

If you insist on having lots of bread, then try to put a decent amount of protein between them. Get a good thick slice of chicken or fish or something similar, and maybe a bit of salad. Try to avoid the sort of dressing they usually put on, they can double the calories.

    Dry filling will be better.
    So will unprocessed vegs.

Plain chicken, lettuce, tomato, red onion and beetroot is pretty good. About 200 cals for the filling.
I don'r eat breag often, but wraps are better than sliced pan. Lettuce wraps better again

Thanks! I have been eating wraps more than bread recently, and was surprised to find that they are just as filling!

Yesterday I had a wrap with plain tuna, tomato, mixed peppers and rocket, it actually wasn't as bad as I thought it would be! It was just quite dry - I didn't want to put mayonnaise on it as they dont have low-fat mayonnaise, so was kinda stuck as to what else to put on it!

You could ask them to put tomato relish or pesto into your sandwich. A scraping shouldn't be too bad.

Salad sandwich, avoid cheese and butter but u can take meanies, use two slice of bread and lettuce leaves, you can put tuna or slice egg into it.
