    fall?

I was going along happily. Took me a couple of miles to get into my stride after Sunday's ultra but by the time we were in the park, everything was working as it should. Just after Crumlin, someone had an asthma attack (or rather I think a guy with asthma, had a panic attack because he had lost his inhaler). There didn't seem to be anyone else around to deal with him and it took me 20 minutes to find someone who I felt safe leaving him with. I knew you were all in good hands with ZiggyStardust so I didn't feel so bad stopping to help him. It's one of those decisions that had to be made in seconds. Anyway, once help arrived for the poor guy (first marathon, gutting to be out over a panic attack) I headed back down the canal and rejoined the route at merrion road. I was way ahead of the 3:45 pacing so I ran back towards UCD. I must have missed ZS (he eventually got the 3:45'ers home in 3:44:xx - superb job) so I just yelled out that I was holding 3:45 from here until the end and continued back along the route (in the correct direction now!). Finished in 3:45:05 which is just ok but I'm sure Amadeus will give me a hard time for it.

Well done HM and Ziggy. Just shows that you can't script everything that can happen and sometimes you have to react with your instincts.
