Switching brakes

On my hybrid, which has straight handlebars (T-shaped??), the right brake lever controls the front brakes, and the left brake lever controls the back brakes.

I would prefer if it was the other way, as the front brakes are the brakes I use most often, and if they were swapped I could be braking and signalling at the same time.

Is this a simple enough job, or does it require a bit of work?

A search only found me this: http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2055377906 , but that doesn't really answer the question.

tis a right pain in the hoop unless your putting in new inner cables, frayed ones are a bollocks to swap over

The easiness of the job depends on what type of brakes you're using. Some levers will allow you to do a straight swap of the cables, others will need you to completely remove the cables.

Do you know what type of brakes you have or what type of bike it is?

Try www.parktool.com . It has good tuitorials which will show you whats involved. If you are swapping over the brakes, its a good time to replace the inner brake cables. New cables are easier to fit that worn ones.
