Thats known as binge drinking - abstaining all week and then drinking a weeks worth of alcohol or more in a weekend.

Perhaps change things away from the pub. Have a pint or a glass of wine with a meal and then go to the cinema or something else.

One of the telltale questions (such as Do you drink to escape reality? or Do you drink alone??) that you are asked in alcoholic questioneers is Are you unable to stop drinking once you start?

I suppose it doesn't necessarily mean you are an alco but if the answer is yes you might think long and hard about drinking. And do some questioneers, there's loads onine.

Honestly I wouldn't say so. I would personally deem someone an alcoholic only if it has become a crutch for people to get through their lives, and if they are causing physical and mental distress to those around them over their drinking habits.

You're probably just not able to consume that much alcohol, like me. :P

It's not terribly healthy - your body isn't design to handle an excess of alcohol well - but it's unfortunately the common way of drinking these days.

Its odd how someone who drinks a glass of wine with dinner every night or every other night is considered a borderline alco by some people, like a friend of mine, who doesnt drink at any other time, yet those same people go out every satruday and get ****faced, this is the "normal" way to get drunk apparently, its just Irish society in general, once you get hammered in the appropriate settings you're fun, have a drink with a meal on your own and you've got problems
