Hi.

Is there any apps or addons etc that makes exposé better?

Like one that spreads the apps out over the whole screen when you activate exposé with 5 or so full screen pdfs it doesnt just spread accross the middle of the screen and show extremely small thumbnails

Sure.

When you have windows open and they are all maximum size and you activate spaces they all spread accross the middle of the screen and are really small thumbnails.

Is there an app that makes spaces better - so it actually spreads them out all over the screen into grids.

Not quite sure what you mean but you can use Expose while in Spaces if that's the problem

Spaces already does what you are describing - spreading apps out into grids. You can adjust the columns and rows as you wish in system preferences. I think you might be getting confused with Exposé.

Exposé is for managing multiple open windows, either within a single app or across all of them. If you have many windows open it will result in the small thumbnails you are describing.

Spaces, however, is for creating multiple virtual desktops. If you wanted a separate space for each pdf window you would have to first manually assign (by dragging) each window into a different space.

Go into the Exposé & Spaces prefs in System Prefs and make sure you have Spaces set up correctly.

oops my bad.

sorry i meant exposé. it doesnt use up all the screen in some cases.
Any apps that make exposé better?

What version of OS X are you running?

Snow Leopard has some nice improvements on expose, one of them being spreading the windows out better.

Yeah I hadn't actually noticed this. Expose does seem improved alright. From the Apple SL site:

Exposé also has a whole new look. Windows are displayed in an organized grid, making it even easier to find what you’re looking for.

Did you get Snow Leopard in the end, conchubhar1? I think the last time I was trying to convince you to buy a external hard drive for backup instead. lol.

I remember when i had tiger i got some tweaks and apps to get stacks and some other features like that. I would still have tiger if I didnt get leopard bought for me....
