I don't suppose there is anywhere in Galway where an Iphone battery can be replaced?? Or somewhere that sells replacement batteries?? Mine has died and online would take a while:(

Did you try the mobile repair shop above the joke shop on shop street? (That's a lot of "shops"...)

Nope, only realised there was a problem over the weekend.

I just ordered one online there, but if there was a place in Galway that does them or replaces them I'd bring it there purely for the speed factor. I can keep the other as a spare anyway when it arrives.

The Galway Mac shop out by centrepoint in the lisbon industrial park, they should replace it for you?

Just curious how much did you pay for one....mine is only lasting about a day now...

I didn't realise that there was such a place!!!

I paid £10 online for one, free p&p.

Might head to that place tomorrow with it anyway and see what they can do.

    Cheers:)

.....you can't replace the battery on an iPhone. At least not without breaking it open. Good luck to you putting it back together again.

Wrong. You can replace the battery in a 3g iphone. They were soldered in in the original but not so anymore. Lots of videos on youtube show you, and whilst fiddley it isn't exactly complicated. Apple would like you to think that you can't replace the battery in an iphone so you'll go out and buy a new one, but that isn't the case.

Ohhh..... please keep this post updated with how u get on as mine is only lasting 1/2 a day and I need to get it replaced but from what I know u had to send it off to apple to replace at a cost of €100+++ so if theres another alternative id be dyin to know it...

I think all of us iPhone 3G owners are one the same boat with regard battery life at the moment. Mine barely makes the day, I do use it constantly though (like right now!).

How much did you pay for the replacement and where did you purchase?

Not too keen on the place beside the joke shop after they charged me 30 yos for a replacement cover for my last phone even though it was a second hand one.

Paid £10 online on Ebay; E cell was the name of the shop I think?? Free p&p and the battery will actually last longer as it's slightly more powerful than the original battery thats in it; but still fine to use. I know of people who have changed their battery without hitch, lots of vids on youtube show you how. Obviously the warranty is voided if you open up the phone yourself, but mine is nearly out anyway so that doesn't bother me tbh.

I'll let ye know how I get on; sounds like a lot of peeps would be interested:)

There is also Screenway in the IDA Business Park accross the road from the Westwood Hotel. They replaced the battery in my iPod for me.

Have always heard good things about Screenway; good to know :)

My battery was despatched early last week but cos of the UK postal strike it's not arrived yet. I'll post an update when I get it :)
