Ok so I made up the gold star bit. But Kharn this weekend showed his true Nocturnal prowess at a gaming event.

The games went on from Friday non-stop until sunday evening. The event involved nearly 100 PCs hooked up together and in perfect sync with one another, and there was problems during the first night. While some of the other event organizers left for a sleep, Kharn was up at 5am/6am maintaining the networked system and helped anyone who required any assistance, as well as run a competition league for a number of teams to play.

Anyways, hes a true noc, he deserves a gold star for his monumental efforts over friday and saturday night. :D

Yeah, but did he get an award from the devil?

No in all seriousness Kharn, Kinetic, PPC, and I believe DeV, Thaed and quite a few others gave me the most awesome gaming weekend of my life.

Anyway this thread's off topic and I'm locking it.

    (Not really)

Cheers man, the thanks is hugely appreciated :)

We run LANs just so that there are LANs for people to go to and it's always really appreciated when people enjoy themselves and take time to say thanks. There's no expenses claimed nor rooms paid for for the "staff" and if enough people don't turn up, we need to pay for the whole thing out of our pocket!

In the interest of fairness though, I must point out that I crept off for a 2 or 3 hour snooze on both nights in order to make sure I was coherent enough to cover the MENTAL EARLY shift.

However, after rising at 5:45am on Sunday, running the FIFA 10 competition, de-constructing the LAN (a 4 hour job) and getting all my own gear home (thanks to po0k for the lift), I then headed to Gaelcon at midnight to see who I could see and left there at around 4:30am :) I was up and at it again before 3pm and stayed till the closing ceremony and headed to the pub with the remainders to help them celebrate a job well done on their side of things too!

    What a weekend...
