    Hi,
    I need some help please.
I am running XP on our home PC, Microsoft office is also installed and we use Outlook for email. About two weeks ago our problem started.
Outlook is popping up randomly over other programmes and if the browser is open. It pops up very frequently if you are typing on each key stroke even if you close Outlook or drop it to the spacebar. I have run our virus checker and the PC is clean.
    Has anybody any ideas.
    Thanks,
    Pedigree

Don't use Outllook, it's muck. Have a look at Thunderbird.

But that's no help with your problem. If you kill Outlook.exe and WinWord.exe in the processes tab of the taskmanager does the problem go away? I wonder if the Outlook launcher shortcut was mapped to random keys on the keyboard. Perhaps you've enabled sticky keys by accident. (tap shift 5 times to enable or disable it)

    Hi 5uspect,
I tried closing the exe in the task manager but it makes no difference and it does not seem to be the sticky key.
    Thanks,

    Uninstall and reinstall Outlook perhaps.
    Office allows a repair install.

Alternatively get that user to use Outlook express or Thunderbird and scrap Outlook.

And when Outlook pops up, what is it trying to do?

It does not do anything, just opens.
