I am absolutely flat out with college assignments at the minute. Was looking over some of my notes in one subject and could not see their relavance to the subject. Google a line of one of them and there they appeared word for word, slide for slide!! Have since found four set of slides copied from various sites.
Are lecturers allowed to do this?
I wouldn't mind if he even picked ones relevant to the subject!

Make an official complaint to someone high up in the university. Send a carbon copy to the department head. Its best that these matters do not get swept under the carpet within one department. This person is being paid to do a job and isn't doing it.

Book publishers regularly make slides available for lecturing staff (coincidentally, I've just downloaded some for two required readings for next semester). This could explain some of the notes/slides being out there.

Having said that, it would be a very lazy lecturer that simply uses publisher's slides without modification.

I generally use them as a base for my own slides, putting my own words on the material.

    Thanks for the replies guys.
I've saved the lecture slides I've found and will show the class reps when I go back after the break.
Our other lecturers put their notes on the public drive for us to bring to lectures but he won't, I wonder if this is why!
@ Tom Dunne, totally understand what your saying, you have to base your lectures on something but as you said this just comes across as pure laziness. As I said if he even went to the effort of finding relevant notes from reputable sources I wouldn't mind so much.
Just so maddening with the cuts in education that he can get away with this!
