Hi,

I was just wondering does anyone know whether you are allowed to volunteer whilst on Jobseekers Allowance. I was going to volunteer for a few hours during the week in a local charity but am afraid that this will disqualify me for JA? Also if they offer to pay expenses eg.travel reimbursement (but not wages) is that considered income? Cheers!

Hi lynzul86,

you can become a volunteer while on Jobseeker's Allowance, but you need to clear this first with the DSFA by applying on form VW1.
