Got a couple of lens which I want to sell, but not getting anything near what they are valued. Can someone direct me to other avenues where camera owners buy lens. Selling canon 300 f4...almost new...2nd hand in shop 1450 but I'd be happy with 1200 euro. It's virtually new. 2nd lens is 50-500 sigma. Need a 300 2.8, so financing purchase and my direction is sports full time.

Unfortunately the value of everything is what people are willing to pay for them not what you'd like to get for it. I'd like to get what I paid for my house if it was for sale but I won't, because thats what people are willing to pay for it.

The 300 f4 you see in a shop for €1450 could be sitting on the shelf for months before someone pops along with more money than sense and buys it. I'm sure you wish to sell yours quicker than that then you will have to price it accordingly.

A brand new one on ebay is going for ~€900 so to be honest you'll probably not even get €850 for it. It's not the buyers fault that you overpaid for it in the first place. When I say overpaid, what I mean is you bought in a bricks and mortar shop in Ireland rather than online. Probably!

You will be able to sell it on Adverts if you wish just don't be expecting big money for a second hand lens. Or obviously Ebay but you are competing against the HK boyo's with their brand new lenses with warranties and what not there so you might get even less there. You could do a little constructive accounting with the shipping fees of course to limit your loss!
