    Hi,

Some months back we had a leak from the shower upstairs and consequently the ceiling between it and the sittingroom has a couple of holes in it. We are now doing up the seomra suite and are wondering what would be the best way to repair these holes.

    Any ideas would be appreciated.

    How big are the holes?

Just double checked. It's not really a hole but rather the paint and some plaster is removed and you can see the slab nail while nearby you can see brown marks on the ceiling where the water was.

You'll need to remove any loose plaster and any boards that are damaged by the water. If its large scale, it might be a job for a plasterer. If its just a few small holes where the plaster has come away, you might get away with polyfilla and sandpaper.

Where the plaster and boards are sound but just stained from the water, you'll need to paint with a sealing (not ceiling!!) paint before giving it the ceiling paint proper, to stop the staing coming through.

    Hope this helps.
