Anyone know any salons that do threading? Dublin area, preferably southside but will go further afield if necessary. I know about Neelus and the place in Dundrum but wondering if there is anywhere else. Thanks.

Naturelle Beauty on Dorset St. do it. I think Blow on Baggot St. do it too, at least they used to. You could check their website.

Is it just that you don't like Neelus? She's opened up in Arnotts if that's any good to you. Near the tights and hats sections.

While I like the job that neelu does on the brows, I wish she didn't spend the whole time giving out. It's not just me who's noticed it, other friends get lectured on various things, while she's threading. I want to feel good about myself after a treatment, not like a scolded child!

She seems to have a few staff there, so maybe there are others qualified there to do it? She hasn't closed her original place so maybe you can go wherever she isn't! :)

She seems to be the only one in Arnotts who does the threading. I'd rather she do it, but leave the lectures for someone who isn't paying €18 for the privilege.

The salon in Clerys do it. Not sure how much though.

€32 for eyebrows and upper lip. They're called Wink.I've used them a few times and find them excellent.

Thanks for the replies everyone. No I've no problem with Neelu at all, was going to her for ages in Dun Laoghaire but she's only there mondays now and that just doesn't suit. I don't like the set up in Arnotts either whereby everyone can stop and have a look as they pass by. It's worse in Dundrum, randomers stopping to see whats going on while the eh threader? scouts for business. Would prefer a salon set up where I would have a bit of privacy as I'm paying for it!

I'll check out some of those suggestions though. Thanks again:)

There is a threading booth in the Blanchardstown Centre. It is located at the front of Debenhams on the right hand side upper level. Myself and 2 friends have had our brows done in there and it is excellent. 18 euro. Lovely girl.

Trust me, know one could give a damn about what you are getting done when in the chair. They may stop and look but they are looking at the threading not you.
I live in the Blanchardstown area and am in the Centre a lot (more than I should be:o) but have never once stopped to see if there might be someone I know getting threading done. I've looked to see if they are busy but thats it.
If you're hell bent on private salons though then try the Manala Spa on Dawson St. I've had it done there too.

Blanchardstown Centre booth (it is the size of average kids bedroom so roomy, airy and very comfortable) is enclosed but with Glass frontage so affords you excellent privacy. The advertising and logos on the glass means you are hidden but passers by can tell if the booth is busy or not. As its a walk in type service it is quite the right balance IMHO.

Mandala Spa above La Stampa on Dawson St do threading. Really great job and the price is pretty competitive too. The spa is amazing and just going into puts you in a relaxing zone. I have found the threading there to be fantastic. Prices on their website http://www.mandala.ie/finishing_touches.htm

Got waxed in Blow and they tore off a layer of skin so won't be going back there for any kind of hair removal, just before my holidays too, argh!

Problem solved, was in town doing a bit of shopping today. First time I've been in Arnotts in ages and it's completely changed, full set up now, not just threading, fully partitioned off so I'm in business again:).

Yeh I know most people wouldn't bat an eyelid but I had a bit of a bad experience and I don't want it repeated.

Can't believe there's so many places offering threading now I had no idea!

Was just in with Neelu in Arnotts yesterday. Although it is sort of partitioned off I actually think the chair you sit in is more visible to other shoppers than it was in the old little booth.

Also, it is now appointment only. I had to wait a day for an appointment when I tried to get my brows done during the week - there was no mention of that in the last email they sent out - surely that's the type of thing they should let you know??

That said I'm very happy with the job she does and thankfully I haven't experienced any giving out - she usually doesn't talk at all when I'm there!

It would be hard for them to talk while actually doing the threading as they hold some of the thread in their mouth.
Glad you're happy with the result but I do agree re: letting you know about appointments only now.

  • I went to Naturelle and the girl in there was giving out to me for not looking after my eyebrows properly?! I mean, I grew them out specifically so I could get them threaded and a new shape done, what would be the point in going otherwise? Also, I'm very busy and my eyebrows really aren't my top priority, we don't all spend our time beautifying ourselves all day.

They're supposed to be changing it soon enough. Arnott's are planning on creating beauty rooms just off the accessories department. So this awkward set-up is just temporary :)
