    Hi,

we have a house on one acre, we want to see if it would be possible to split the site in half & seek planning permission on the vacant part of the site, however I have no clue where to start/who I call!

Firstly we need to look at either completely moving the existing Biocycle sewerage system from where it is or else just turning it in its current position so that the sewerage system is on one side of the site.
I have spoken to the company that installed it and it can physically be moved, but as regards to planning/feasibility of moving it somewhere else on site I need advice.

Secondly we would need to see if it would be possible to apply for planning to put another entrance onto the site so the second site had its own entrance.

Thirdly, we don't plan on building on the vacant part of the site ourself but think it might make a bit more sense to get planning permission for a generic bungalow so help us sell it if we decide to go down that route.

Is there one person that I could pay to advise me on all of the above ie, Architect/Draftsperson etc or are we looking at requiring the services of several professionals?
We're on a very tight budget so the cheapest we could do this the better especially as we really just to want to see if all of the above is possible at all.

Sorry for the long winded post I hope it makes sense what I'm asking!

    Thanks in advance,

    C

The very first issue is whether the council will allow another house on your site, or to reduce the size of your site and put another house beside it. A pre-planning meeting should answer this for you. I recommend you speak to a good local AT/architect about this first. You could possibly use the same person who did the work on your own house. Anyway, looking into this and finding out if it is possible should not cost you much at all.

Thanks UncleTom great advice. I found a copy of the original house plans with the AT name/address on it. I was in half a mind to contact him but wasn't sure if he was who I should speak to first.
I'll drop him a line and see what he reckons.

    Thanks again!
