where are the safest places to park a bike in the city centre? are there any shopping centres where you leave them. I know bikes get taken from oustide Stephens green etc.

I have a fairly top of the range Krytonite type lock, is that good enough if I park in one of the normal places?

I would hazard a guess that if there are places to secure a bike outside Pearse Street Garda Station it would be reasonably secure.

The City Council have just opened up a new Bike Park on Drury Street. The City Council owns the car park and they removed 16 car parking spaces on the ground floor and converted them into 200 bike parking spaces, there is CCTV protecting the bikes and the bikes are about 20 feet from the security kiosk.

It's a great initiative but very underused. I was the only one there this morning. So much for safety in numbers :)
