I'm doing my first marathon on monday and will be getting there via public transport...is there any storage facilities for your clothes, wallet,phones etc???

Yes, there are manned baggage areas which are sectioned into bib numbers. There are probably about 30-40 bags in each section so you're not waiting long before or after for you bag and it's a safe place to keep your stuff.

You should get given a bag with your number on it at the expo, then you leave your kit in that at the baggage area.
